Speakers

Seth Wortman

Seth Wortman is Associate Minister of Discipleship and Care at Fairmount Christian Church in

Mechanicsville, Virginia. Raised as a preacher’s kid in Missouri, he cannot remember a time when

ministry and people were not the most important part of his life. His passion is evangelism,

discipleship, shepherding, teaching, and training others to fulfill the Great Commission. Seth loves

everything outdoors, from kayaking to fly fishing. He and his wife, Theda, have one son, Jared, who

is married to Katrina and have given them the beautiful gift of three grandchildren. Jared is a

senior minister and serves in Des Moines, Iowa. Seth graduated from Central Christian College of

the Bible in Missouri. His desire is to love Jesus and serve people.

Tyler Jackson

Tyler Jackson is the senior minister at Avalon Church. Tyler remarked that, “Before coming to

Avalon, I served as the Lead Campus Minister at ODU, where the Lord grew my love for His church.

I’m the husband of Adrienne, father of two (Riven and Brom) a Nespresso fan, Southeastern Asia

food enthusiast, amateur home cook , 3D-printing hobbyist, and reader of fantastical stories. I’m

always thinking, never settling, and drawn to the deeper questions beneath the surface. My wife

and I love using our table as a place of hospitality, conversation, discipleship, and kingdom work.

More than anything, I want to help people see Christ clearly and follow Him courageously.

Eddie Ewell

JEddie Ewell is a 1996 graduate of Mid Atlantic Christian University, and currently serves as the minister of Union Grove Church of Christ in Pantego, NC. Eddie is married to Lisa and is the father of four, Kaylee (24), Raegan (18), Carter (16), and Brooklynn (12). In his free time, Eddie enjoys watching baseball and is a long-time Baltimore Orioles fan.

Daniel Baranowski

Daniel Baranowski has been leading worship for over 15 years and currently serves as Worship

Minister at Northside Christian Church. A 2011 graduate of Johnson University, Daniel is passionate

about helping people connect with God through authentic worship. He and his wife are raising

two children, and when he's not at church, you'll likely find him spending time with family,

enjoying the outdoors, or firing up his smoker. Daniel is excited to worship alongside the men at

this retreat and see what God has in store.

Friday Dinner: Join us at 5:00 PM for a Chili Cook-Off!

Saturday Breakfast & Lunch: Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch catered by Just Us Food Ministries, featuring meats smoked over hickory wood in a custom smoker and served with homemade rubs and sauces.

Stay in the dorms or bring a hammock or tent! Don't forget bedding for a twin size bed if you stay in the dorm.

There will be other activities throughout the afternoon on Saturday. Prizes will be awarded.
